In pursuit of our quest for self-sufficiency, all meat on Mello View's menus comes from our own livestock. Vegetables and herbs are very frequently from our own garden, with any seasonal shortfalls met by the organic market gardens local to us.

We cater for private events such as dinner parties, shoot lunches and weddings, either at Mello View or at your home or venue.

Ed will work with you to create the perfect menu to suit your event and budget, whether a three course, plated dinner, family feast, barbeque or tea party.

We take care of all the cleaning after we cook and also source waiting and bar staff should you require an extra helping hand.

Prices vary according to the style and menu, so please get in contact and we can start help to plan your event.

We host our supper club in the main room or on the terrace at Mello View. Up to twenty-four guests share dinner around our table with views over the beautiful Axe Valley. Book in groups or come along on your own as there will always be dinner companions.

Chat with Ed as he prepares your meal in the open-plan kitchen or on our wood-fired oven during warmer evenings. We use as much fresh produce from Mello View as we can and, otherwise, we use local, seasonal produce.

Dinner is priced at £25 per person for three courses.

A great gift, group activity or a treat for yourself, we offer a range of interactive cookery demonstrations.  Watch and listen as Ed shows how to make the most of various dishes and techniques, then roll up your sleeves to try it yourself.

Places are limited to up to six people and run for about four hours and is rounded off by sitting down to eat the meal we’ve created together. We work at a pace suitable to everyone, with plenty of time for questions and curiosity.

Demonstrations may introduce you to skills such as curing, smoking, sausage making and butchery, or focus on a specific area of cooking such as gluten-, dairy- and refined sugar-free, vegan and vegetarian cooking. We love to design demonstrations that will indulge and develop your skills, so let us know if there is something in particular you’d like to learn about.

Prices start at £180 for two people for a four hour course, including lunch or supper.

During the spring and summer months we offer the chance to learn more about outdoor cooking, off-grid living and self-sufficiency.

Learn to cook on our wood fired oven, barbecue and fire pit. Whether we go foraging the hedgerows, gathering from the vegetable patch or skinning, plucking and fire-building, be prepared to get your hands dirty. We advise wearing comfortable clothes and an apron.
